On this site in St Georges Hill, Weybridge, Surrey, we installed 330 350mm diameter CFA piles though wets sands to form the foundations for two new houses. We were employed by the groundworks contractor.
Due to the varying levels on the houses the machinery was de-rigged on two occasions and re-erected to gain access to other areas of the site. Works took three weeks to complete
This smaller site had particularly tight access. It was in a high street location in Guildford, Surrey. Conventional foundations could not be formed due to the very wet nature of the soils and the location of underground services and drains. The main contractor employed us to install 36 300mm diameter CFA piles with our Klemm piling rig using a sectional auger. Piles were filled with a grout mix which was site batched, avoiding the necessity for heavy concrete lorry deliveries in this built up environment.
