The existing undercroft of this property in Farnborough, Hampshire, varied in depth from 0m to 2.20m. The existing footings were underpinned to depths of up to 4m and approximately 300 m3 of spoil was removed to provide an overall basement depth of 3.50m. We then constructed a new slab, which was tied into new underpinning bays. All access was through the small doorway shown.
The whole basement was subsequently lined with damp proofing by others.
Our client was the owner of the property and he and his family stayed in occupation throughout the construction process. Our works took four months to complete.
